Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Merc, a service operated by Memriq Holdings, Inc. ("Memriq", "we"). By using Merc you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.

What Merc is, and what it is not

Merc helps you with the things you buy and own. You tell it what you need or what is going wrong; it researches and compares options, prepares a purchase when you say yes, remembers what you own, and follows a return, repair, claim, delivery problem or cancellation through with you until it is resolved. Merc never buys anything without your yes to that one purchase, never holds or types your card, and never places an order with your payment method — it takes you to the seller's own checkout, where you pay. Merc is not the seller of anything you buy: your purchase is between you and the seller, on the seller's terms.

Who can use it

Merc is in an invitation-only early access period. You need a Memriq account and an invitation that has been accepted for Merc.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself and tell us at hi@memriq.ai if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Your email and calendar

If you connect your email or calendar, you authorise Merc to read them to find your receipts, orders, warranties and replies about your cases, and to suggest times for a delivery, a visit or a repair. Merc reads a message only to propose facts you keep or dismiss, and never stores its text. You can disconnect at any time.

What Merc does on its own

You choose how far Merc acts: research only; also hand research to your agent; also prepare returns and warranty claims; or also keep track and remind you. Each level is described beside the setting, with what Merc could do, spend and send at that level. At every level a purchase still waits for your yes to that one purchase.

Messages, claims and cancellations

Merc prepares messages, claims, returns and cancellations for you with the evidence you have. You send them yourself, from your own email or on the seller's or provider's own site, and Merc never contacts anyone without your authorisation. A request you sent is not the same as an outcome: Merc keeps a case open until the evidence of the outcome arrives — a refund, a replacement, a repair, a cancellation confirmation, or no further charge. A free time in your calendar is never treated as another person's agreement to a visit.

Research, prices and coverage

Options, prices, availability, warranty coverage and resale estimates come from public pages and the records you gave Merc, each shown with where it came from and when it was read. Sellers change them, and Merc may read a page wrongly. Check the price, the delivery and the return terms on the seller's own checkout before you pay. A coverage answer can be confirmed, denied, conditional or unknown; a covered part does not mean covered labour. A price watch tells you about a change; it never buys. A charge Merc did not find is not proof that a subscription was cancelled.

Early access

Merc is new. Features may change, pause or be removed, and it may be unavailable at times. It is provided as it is, without promises that it will be error-free, that every option, price, message or receipt will be read correctly, or that every deadline will be found.

Price

Merc has no paid plan you can buy during early access, and we take no payments for it. If that changes, we will tell you before you are asked to pay, and you will not be charged without agreeing.

Fair use

Do not use Merc to break the law, to deceive a seller or anyone else, to interfere with the service, or to copy or resell it. We may suspend an account that does.

Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Memriq is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for a seller's or provider's acts or terms, or for a loss that follows from an option, a price, a coverage answer, a reminder, or a deadline that was not found. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility the law does not let us limit.

Ending

You can stop using Merc at any time and have everything it keeps deleted, as the Privacy Policy describes. We may end early access, or your access, with notice where we can give it.
